Proofreading is the final stage of the writing process (before publication) which ensures that the text is error free, there is consistency of formatting and the text is coherent and readable. No citation, referencing, formatting or substantial editing suggestions are made. Choose this if you have a completed text which just needs checking.
Copy Editing
Copy Editing involves making sure that the text is edited to suit the target audience. It may include suggestions for rewording or restructuring to improve clarity, coherence and readability. We also check headings, consistency of style, notes, and references. Choose this if you have a completed text but you need suggestions for improvement of style, readability, formatting.
Writing support
Writing support is a writing development service involving a closer relationship with an author where there is a need for a deeper examination of the writer's goals. We examine all aspects of the text and make substantive changes where necessary, helping the writer to understand how to write a clear coherent text. Choose this if you have a text which is more than 80% completed but you need help to complete it.
Please note that we only deal with non-fiction texts: technical, academic, explanatory.
